Welcome back to In the Driver’s Seat with Marko Stojakovic, the co-founder and CRO of mobilityONE. More than just a fleet platform, mobilityONE is a digital transformation powerhouse helping businesses master Mobile Resource Management (MRM) by integrating seamlessly with analytics tools like Fleetyr, and providing a unified hub for cost control and ESG compliance across the EU.

Marko’s team is at the forefront of the green transition, championing a shift from spreadsheets to real-time analytics and empowering industry leaders to rethink what a “connected fleet” really looks like.

What is your dream vehicle and why?

My dream vehicle would be the Volkswagen T-Roc R. It perfectly combines performance, practicality, and technology. It’s a compact with 4×4 capability and strong power. I love that it’s fast and agile for everyday driving, but also versatile. When I go on a trip with my family, I can easily add a Thule roof box, and if I decide to go camping, I can mount a car rooftop tent.

And honestly, one more reason: my son loves it too — he says it’s the perfect car to impress on a date. For me, that makes it not just a dream car, but a car that fits our lifestyle.

What is something you’re working on right now at the company?

I’m currently focused on driving revenue growth by building strategic partnerships, acquiring new customers, and attracting investors to scale mobilityONE.

For our customers, this is critical because they need a partner who can deliver fast, pragmatic, win-win solutions without wasting time. Businesses today don’t want complexity; they want speed, reliability, and measurable impact. By expanding our ecosystem and resources, we ensure that mobilityONE remains a trusted, agile partner that helps companies achieve digital transformation and sustainability goals quickly and effectively.

What is something you’re most proud of at work?

I’m most proud that after a corporate career, we successfully launched and scaled mobilityONE — a platform that keeps growing with more and more satisfied customers. Seeing companies embrace mobilityONE to simplify fleet and asset management, reduce costs, and achieve sustainability goals proves that our vision of digital transformation and pragmatic solutions is making a real impact.

What is the hardest part about what you do?

The tough bits are the less glamorous things like endless email threads that feel like a Netflix series with too many seasons and waiting for client approvals that move slower than dial-up internet. But, it’s all worth it when we get back to what really matters: building smart solutions and helping customers transform their mobility strategies.

Managers in the safety and mobility space have a tough job too. What is your company doing to help make it easier for them?

“No more spreadsheets to manage fleets!“: That’s our mission at mobilityONE. Mobility managers deal with complex tasks (vehicles, drivers, costs, compliance, and sustainability) often across multiple disconnected systems. We simplify this by providing one cloud-based platform that brings everything together:

  • Real-time visibility of assets and drivers
  • Automated workflows for maintenance and compliance
  • Integrated ESG reporting
  • Seamless integration with GPS, ERP, and connected car technologies

Instead of wasting time on manual processes, we help companies save time, reduce errors, and accelerate digital transformation.

Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in the mobility industry and why?

One of the most interesting people I’ve met was an investor who, after just 30 seconds of my pitch, closed my laptop and said:

“I’ve failed twice with similar projects. Tell me how you’ll get 1,000 customers in one year and 15,000 in three years — then we’ll talk.”

I replied: “When I figure that out, I’ll call you — but it’s going to be expensive.”

That moment taught me a lot about focus and scalability.

Another fascinating encounter was with a fleet manager running 5,000 vehicles on Excel, and, as you can imagine, doing it very unsuccessfully. It was a perfect example of why digital transformation is not optional anymore.

What do you think is the biggest challenge currently facing the mobility industry?

Many mobility managers still think the solution is simply replacing vehicles with EVs. But that’s not enough. Our approach, combined with Fleetyr advanced analytics, saves companies enormous amounts of time and money. When you automate and centralize fleet management, you free up time for everything else, and you finally know what to do with your data.

What do you think is still missing or poorly understood in the mobility industry?

The real game-changer is data-driven management: knowing where your vehicles are, how they’re used, what they cost, and how they impact ESG goals, all in one place. Right now, too many companies are still running fleets of thousands of vehicles on Excel. That’s not management, that’s survival mode.

What do you think the mobility industry will look like 10 years from now?

In 10 years, the mobility industry will look radically different. I believe we’ll see fully connected ecosystems where vehicles, infrastructure, and data flow seamlessly. Fleets will be smart, partially autonomous, and optimized by AI. Mobility managers won’t manage spreadsheets; they’ll manage strategies and insights, because everything operational will be automated.

Ownership will shrink even more, and Mobility-as-a-Service will dominate for both businesses and individuals. Sustainability won’t be a buzzword — it will be a baseline expectation, measured and managed in real time.

In short: data will drive many things, because when you know your data, you control your future.
