Custom Asset Utilisation and Emissions Reporting Dashboards

Hidden billing blind spots and disjointed tracking

Altus Group set out to address three critical operational objectives. First and foremost, they needed to eliminate revenue leakage by identifying active or utilised assets that were going unbilled, which is crucial given that their vehicles are billed to clients on a daily basis.

Secondly, they aimed to strengthen operational compliance and workflow automation. They required a system where Driver Inspection Forms completed in Fleetio automatically populates an issue report in SafetyCulture whenever a fault is flagged. Additionally, they sought to consolidate total cost of ownership (TCO) analytics by seamlessly pushing fuel card data from providers like Shell and Corpay directly into Fleetio.

Finally, Altus needed to meet strict regulatory and contractual standards by accurately tracking and reporting vehicle emissions to specific state government-level clients, turning raw operational data into actionable environmental compliance.

Unifying billing, safety, and emissions reporting with automation

To tackle these challenges, Fleetyr set up a daily data ingestion process connecting Verizon Connect, Fleetio, and Altus’s internal financial systems. By pulling this information into custom Fleetyr dashboards, we cross-referenced active assets (tracking engine hours, odometers, and Fleetio maintenance statuses) against expected sales reports to instantly highlight unbilled, active vehicles.

Additionally, Fleetyr connected Fleetio’s driver inspection forms directly to SafetyCulture, automatically triggering compliance workflows whenever safety or risk issues were flagged. We also integrated Shell and Corpay fuel card data straight into Fleetio, giving Altus full visibility to spot fuel usage and track total operational costs.

Finally, to fulfil their government reporting requirements, Fleetyr built custom emissions reports. We extracted vehicle activity from Verizon Connect and mapped it against custom geofences drawn around customer work sites. By combining on-site activity with Fleetyr’s benchmarked fuel consumption data by vehicle make and model, we accurately calculated total emissions per asset, turning complex field data into effortless client reporting.

These integrations are the starting point so the maintenance teams can easily find potential major breakdown opportunities, schedule maintenance, and control costs.
